Haiyang joined International Leverage in 2003.
Haiyang has an extensive
international business background. With over 25 years of Chinese
Industrial working experience, including 9 years experience of
multi-national companies as lead manager in a JV and a WOFE (Wholly
Owned Foreign
Enterprise),and 10 years experience of a Chinese company as a Deputy
General Manager. Haiyang is fully proficient in both written and
spoken English, having received numerous western training experiences
related to leadership, new company set up, international business
management, lean manufacturing, quality system, marketing and purchasing.

President of Magnequench (Tianjin) Co., Ltd.
Magnequench
(MQ) is an American company with a proprietary process for making
high energy magnetic materials for use in micro-motors
for computer, communication equipment such as cell phones, automotive
products, office automation devices and electrical tool industries.
As a high tech company, MQ has 90% bonded NdFeB powder market in
the world, and during Haiyang’s tenure they transferred 10%
of powder making capacity from the US to Tianjin, China. Every disk
drive in the world contained a magnet originating in Haiyang’s
plant.
Among Haiyang’s major achievements are:
- Completed the plant construction and equipment installation
by cooperating with US engineers in 2000 to 2001.
- Established the mass production system to supply the global
market after MQ USA plant closed in 2001.
- Established the quality (ISO9000) system, training the
employees and set up SOP to ensure the production quality.
- Set up finance policy based on headquarter and government
requirement. The accuracy of the cost date and finance report
was improved lot. Finance control and audit was put in place.
- Led MRP system improvement and material controlling and
logistic management.
- Managed China marketing development and purchasing improvement.
- Continuing improvement: Cost reduction Program practice
and Lean manufacture process and manufacturing cell set up.
In this program, the alloy out put increased 60% and the powder
yield
rate
increased 5 % without additional investment.
Major International Automotive Parts Manufacturer
Deputy
General Manager at Shanghai Automotive Systems Company. Highest level
representative of US venture partner of this JV which
is the largest manufacturer of its kind in China, with 60% of the
China market. Managed a total investment of US$ 88 million, with
1999 of over US$ 75 million. 1020 employees.
Major Accomplishments included:
- Established marketing strategy in both China and overseas (major
customers in China are: Shanghai Volkswagen, Shanghai GM,
Beijing Cherokee, Tianjing Charade, First Auto Works - Volkswagen,
Dongfeng Citroen, Shenyang JingBei, Shengya GM, Chongqing Suzuki
Alto, Chongqing
Changan, Chongqing Isuzu, Changhe mini van, Hafei mini
van,
and other OEMs.)
- Improved customer satisfaction and on-site services
- Set up new procedures to improve the marketing management, inventory
control and customer payment.
- Provided training for regional sales managers
- Established purchasing strategy
- Set up a direct import resource and implemented worldwide purchasing

Chengdu Automobile Factory (Anglo-Chinese JV)
Worked
as Deputy General Manager at Chengdu Automobile Factory in Chengdu
, Sichuan. This factory has 2100 employees to produce light
duty trucks. Over 12 years, Haiyang worked in many areas:
- In charge of the factory operation, that included 5 workshop:
stamping, painting, welding, final assemble workshops;
- In charge of manufacture and process: improved and increased
equipment and facilities for manufacturing capability.
Imported press line from Germany and built a new body welding line,
painting
line
and an assemble line.
- Responsible for product development. Successfully negotiated
with Rover Group in Britain to imported technology and tools.
- Successfully negotiated with Rover Group and established
a JV company and appointed as the JV General Manager.

source lower cost, high quality components from China for export
markets in North America, Japan
and Europe.
Education & Training
Haiyang has studied at Hunan University, China and obtained a B.S.
degree, majored in automotive design, test and manufacture as well
as he attended the Chengdu University of Science & Technology.
Haiyang also was chosen and participated in an international program
for top managers at General Motors Engineering & Management
Institute, USA.
Training: 6 Sigma, MRP, QS9000-2000, JV Development and Management
training in Singapore, Executive Management for Managers held by
University of Michigan in Hong Kong, Products Development Training
