Hong Zhang
Mr. Zhang joined International Leverage as a Senior Advisor in 2005.
Mr. Zhang led the acquisition of Magnequench a rapidly solidified
nano-materials technology company from General Motors and was appointed
as non-executive Chairman, serving as a member of the Board of Directors
of Magnequench since 1995 as the Chairman of Magnequench (Tianjin)
Co., Ltd., since its founding in 1988.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in physics from Beijing
University in 1970, Mr. Zhang joined the Chinese Academy of Sciences
(CAS) in 1973. Among his research activities worked of the application
of superconducting magnets, served as a visiting scientist in the
Max Planck Institute in West Germany from 1978-81. Following a successful
research career, Mr. Zhang served in executive roles within the Chinese
Academy of Sciences, as Deputy Director of the Technology Sciences
and then Director of the Hi-Tech Enterprises from 1985 to 1992.
Zhang has been the Chairman of Beijing San Huan New Materials and
High-Tech, Inc. since 1990, helping lead the firm through a successful
IPO. Mr. Zhang a founding member of the China Sciences Group (Holding)
Co., and he has been the Vice-Chairman of the Group since 1993. Mr.
Zhang has more than 30 years of professional engineering and management
experience.
